The AAUW of Oregon Special Projects Fund
The Special Projects Fund (SPF) was created in 2015 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to provide a mechanism for AAUW of Oregon 501(c)(4) branches to fund and facilitate AAUW mission-based community projects for women and girls.
AAUW’s mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. AAUW of Oregon promotes advocacy, takes action to empower women and girls, and connects National AAUW with branch members. The SPF supports these missions by promoting gender equity, education, and development opportunities for women and girls throughout Oregon that enable them to realize their full potential.
As a separate entity from the AAUW of Oregon, the SPF complements its efforts by providing a way for branches to receive contributions from entities who are interested in making donations to 501(c)(3) nonprofits. By providing this mechanism for tax-deductible donations, the SPF facilitates the promotion of branch-identified mission-based projects to offer their communities excellent opportunities for its women and girl citizens.
The SPF is an IRS public charity and is registered with the Oregon Department of Justice. It is listed with Guide Star and a member of the Nonprofit Association of Oregon. The SPF is a 501(c)(3) Affiliate with AAUW National. The Federal EIN # is 81-1327469.
Requests for SPF governance documents shall be reviewed by the Board of Directors.
